Happy New Years

2011 is coming to a close and as I reflect on what a great year this has been I can't help but wonder what 2012 is going to bring.   This past year I have been blessed to get married to my best friend and graduate college with a bachelors degree in photography!!!! I have finally established Anne Marie Photography and created business cards and I have had top privilege of working with some great clients. Do you want to be one of those great clients??? I want you to be!!!

Looking to get some photos done?  Feel free to give me call or email me!!! I offer great packages at great deals!!! I fully believe that great photography does not need to cost hundreds and even thousands of dollars.  Got a wedding coming up?  While I have never done a wedding under my Anne Marie name I have assisted weddings and feel that I can give you quality work at a great price.  No $3000 starting price here!!!  Look for my 2012 prices to come soon!!! And juniors - it's not to early to start thinking about those senior photographs! Want city scape? Parks? At your home?  Let talk soon ok?!?

Take care everyone!

Below I've attached image from my Senior Thesis. While they are not portraits but thought another side of Anne Marie would be nice to see!!!

Matt and Maureen

My husband and I have been friends with Matt since our high school days.  When Matt began dating Maureen I knew very quickly that Maureen and I would get along great!!! I was so excited when they asked if I would do some fall photos for them!  Matt and Maureen were so much fun to work with.  They were very unpredictable and had a blast sneaking up on each other through the fields.  All of a sudden Matt got really serious and got down on one knee.  As I took photos of a memorable moment, Matt presented her flowers and began to laugh.  Did I mention unpredictable?  While it was not a proposal they were laughing all the way up the path.  I am so glad that I was able to photograph such great friends!  Thank for a great afternoon Matt and Maureen!

Playing with Texture

So I was playing around on Pinterest.com and came across a video that explains how to add texture to a video.  Believe it or not I had seen this technique before but wasn't sure how to accomplish what was being shown.  FINALLY I have learned and now that I know I feel like I should have known this whole time.  Anyways -  I have played with some old/new photos adding texture and below are the before and after of 2 photos....I'm still playing and trying to find the right textures for different photos but you can see slight changes between the before and after.
ENJOY!!!!

First Post!

My first post - how exciting!

Let me explain a few things!

First - Who is Anne Marie? Anne Marie is a combination of a few people.  Anne Marie came to be when my sister and I were joking about starting a cupcake store.  My middle name is Anne and her middle name is Marie. We thought Anne Marie would be a great name for a cupcake store! At that time my photography was called Real Life Photography and that name was just not sitting right with me for what I intended to do with my photography.  The name Real Life Photography seemed hard and I wanted something that felt soft and inviting.  Anne Marie, the real Anne Marie is my Grandma.  Growing up she was so caring, always inviting and I was named after her.  I thought to my self what a great name for a photography business, after someone with the traits I want my business to hold.  So a new photography business is born!

Second - I want to thank you for following my blog.  I cannot promise I will post every day however as I receive more business, I will begin to blog more! So please be patient with me and we will grow together!

Finally - if anyone is interested in getting some photos done I would be happy to do them!  I specialize in senior portraits and couple photos however I would like to branch out into wedding photography (as I was/am an assistant with another photography business and have grown to love weddings!)  Please if you are interested contact me at ashleyaklaasen@gmail.com or visit my on facebook!

I look forward to blogging with you and hopefully hearing from many of you soon!!!
